March Programs and Events
Spring into Action on Saturday, March 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and help with spring cleanup in the mansion area. Lunch will be provided to those who PSVP. Join the Searching for the Green Hike on Saturday, March 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and search for early signs of spring, and perhaps some clover in honor of Saint Patrick’s Day. Plan for a one- to two-mile hike over uneven terrain. Join other volunteers to continue spring cleanup and other projects during the Volunteer Work Day on Saturday, March 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Garden Harvest Day 2018
On Sunday, October 7th from noon to 5:00 p.m. celebrate the bounty of autumn with the Friends of Kings Gap, Cumberland County Master Gardeners, and Kings Gap staff. Admission is free although nominal fees will be charged for all “make and take” items. A variety of activities for all ages will feature:
- Kettle-Cooked Chicken Corn Soup
- Apple Cider Pressing
- Apple Butter Making
- Pumpkin Painting
- Bird Feeder Building
- Children’s Games and Crafts
- Hay Rides
- Mum and Pumpkin Walk
- And more…
Bring your appetite and spend an afternoon in the fresh mountain air. All activities will be held in and around the mansion area
Holiday Open House 2018
On Sunday, December 2nd and Sunday, December 9th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, enjoy this once-a-year opportunity to explore the Cameron-Masland Mansion, a gracious mountain stone villa built in 1908 as a summer home. Take a self-guided tour of both floors of the mansion in seasonal decor. Enjoy music of the season along with light refreshments including hot spiced cider and a variety of delicious cookies, which will be offered throughout the afternoon each day. All ages are welcome to attend this free event. Please join us for the festivities!
