Gardening for Butterflies Butterflies are not only beautiful to see in your yard, they are important pollinators with a unique life cycle. Learn about the life cycle of butterflies, and how knowing their life cycle can help you to attract butterflies to your garden. Meet Friday May 10th from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Bosler Library in Carlisle,158 West High Street.
Plant Sale & Spring Garden Days. Sale includes native plants (perennials, ferns, shrubs, and trees) and a few "naturalized" favorites. In addition, edible trees, shrubs, and perennials will also be available. All sales are cash or check only. Garden Days will feature Programs on Butterfly Gardening and Bee Basics, Free Kids Activities, and More! A food stand will be serving "Homemade" Chicken Corn Soup, Hot Dogs, Snacks, and Drinks. Join us Saturday, May 11th from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM and again on Sunday, May 12th from Noon - 4:00 PM.

Mothers-on-the-Mountain Hike and Luncheon Share Mother's Day with your Mom on Sunday May 12th. This program combines fresh air and exercise with a unique dining experience in the Cameron-Masland Mansion. The optional hike starts in front of the mansion at 10:00 AM. At 11:30 AM, gather in the mansion to learn about its history, followed by a plated lunch. Not recommended for very young children. Hikers should wear sturdy shoes, bring water and expect uneven terrain. $25/person. Registration Required. For more information or to register call (717) 486-5031 by Friday, May 3. SOLD OUT!
Join us to experience the wonders of a spring evening. Experiencing a Spring Night. This program will be held on Saturday, May 18th from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM. Before exploring, we’ll learn about amphibians as our night vision adjusts. We will then explore the forest pools. Wear appropriate footwear and bring flashlights. Meet at the Pine Plantation. Recommended for ages 5 and older.

The Friends of Kings Gap (FOKG) meet on the third Monday of each month in the Education Building. Come learn about the group and plan activities for the community. Membership starts at just $10! Join us Monday, May 20th and 7:00 PM and see how you can help support Kings Gap.
Learn the basics of archery technique, safety, and practicing your skills during our Archery for Families. The program is open to first time and novice “archers”. Age 10 and up. Equipment provided for use thanks to a grant from PA Game Commission. Registration required for this free program. Register online. Garden Harvest Day 2019
On Sunday, October 6th from noon to 5:00 p.m. celebrate the bounty of autumn with the Friends of Kings Gap, Cumberland County Master Gardeners, and Kings Gap staff. Admission is free although nominal fees will be charged for all “make and take” items. A variety of activities for all ages will feature:
- Kettle-Cooked Chicken Corn Soup
- Apple Cider Pressing
- Apple Butter Making
- Pumpkin Painting
- Bird Feeder Building
- Children’s Games and Crafts
- Hay Rides
- Mum and Pumpkin Walk
- And more…
Bring your appetite and spend an afternoon in the fresh mountain air. All activities will be held in and around the mansion area
Holiday Open House 2019
On Sunday, December 1st and Sunday, December 8th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day, enjoy this once-a-year opportunity to explore the Cameron-Masland Mansion, a gracious mountain stone villa built in 1908 as a summer home. Take a self-guided tour of both floors of the mansion in seasonal decor. Enjoy music of the season along with light refreshments including hot spiced cider and a variety of delicious cookies, which will be offered throughout the afternoon each day.
